About
We exist to give every young person in Nairobi the chance to build with technology.
Not to consume it — to create with it. Free Saturday coding classes, run by people from the community, for the community. Because access to opportunity shouldn't depend on your postcode.
Started with a Saturday class and a borrowed laptop.
In 2025, volunteers from the Kiserem Epilepsy Foundation noticed a gap — no digital skills education existed for young people in Mwihoko. So they started a coding club opposite the primary school. A few students, a whiteboard, a lot of enthusiasm. That club became Kiserem Tech.
What we stand for
Our culture is baked into
everything we do.
- Ambition
- We set high expectations for every student — not because we have to, but because we've seen what they're capable of.
- Community
- We're rooted in Mwihoko. Our students, families, and instructors are neighbours — this is learning built by and for our community.
- Curiosity
- There are no wrong answers when you're exploring. We create space for questions, experiments, and the happy accidents that lead to real understanding.
- Access
- Tech education should never depend on what a family can afford. Our classes are free because opportunity shouldn't have a price tag.
Our team
People from the community,
teaching for the community.

Part of the Kiserem family
Built on the foundation of
Kiserem Epilepsy Foundation.
Kiserem Tech grew directly out of the work of the Kiserem Epilepsy Foundation — a community health charity supporting people with epilepsy in Mwihoko, Nairobi. The same volunteers, the same community, the same belief that everyone deserves better.
Where the Foundation focuses on health and support, Kiserem Tech focuses on opportunity and skills. Together, we're working toward one thing: a stronger, more self-sufficient community in Mwihoko.
